Job Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 6 months related hospitality industry experience and/or training
- Three or more years in a sales role with verifiable sales success
- Demonstrated proficiency in catering sales generation and contract negotiation
- Ability to work independently with little supervision
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Working knowledge of POS systems
- Ability to adhere to professional business etiquette
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Commitment to confidentiality and discretion
- Detail-oriented and accurate work output
- Flexible schedule including weekends and evenings
- Ability to travel for outside sales calls and events
- Proven independent decision-making abilities
Job Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 6 months related hospitality industry experience and/or training
- Three or more years in a sales role with verifiable success
- Experience in catering sales generation, contract negotiation and pricing, event scheduling, training, catering, banquets and menu development
- Ability to work independently with little supervision
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs especially Word, Excel, and email
- Working knowledge of POS systems
- Strong business etiquette and professional verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to represent company positively and knowledgeably
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
- Detail-oriented with strong accuracy
- Flexibility to work varied schedules including weekends and evenings
- Ability to travel for outside sales calls and events
- Proven decision-making skills
Job Duties
- Build relationships by networking and prospecting with key decision makers
- Coordinate and deliver effective sales presentations
- Independently source, identify, and pursue outside networking opportunities through professional industry resources and community events
- Negotiate, author, and submit finalized contracts and banquets event orders to clients and internal staff
- Address and coordinate all catering requirements and requests in a timely and helpful manner
- Maintain accurate records for all catering sales activities
- Communicate daily with food and beverage manager, culinary staff, catering staff, and operations staff about guest needs and expectations
- Maintain an extensive client database for follow-up sales calls and contact
- Assist with follow-up of guests' experience at the venue ensuring all issues are addressed
- Assist in the planning and coordination of catered events
- Serve as primary group and convention contact after contract signing
- Approve inventory changes and respond to questions or concerns promptly
- Assist with oversight of accounts receivable related to assigned events
