Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 3-5 years experience in sales
  • proficiency in catering sales and contract negotiation
  • ability to work independently
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office and POS systems

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 3-5 years in a sales role with verifiable sales success
  • demonstrated proficiency and experience in catering sales generation, contract negotiation, pricing, event scheduling, training, catering, banquets, and menu development
  • ability to work independently both on and off venue property with little supervision
  • demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and working knowledge of POS systems
  • ability to adhere to high standards of business etiquette and professional communication
  • ability to consistently represent the company professionally and positively
  • ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
  • demonstrated ability to produce detail-oriented and accurate work
  • ability to work varied schedules including weekends and evenings
  • ability to travel to outside sales calls and events
  • proven ability to make solid and independent decisions

Job Duties

  • Build relationships by networking and prospecting with key decision makers
  • coordinate and deliver effective sales presentations
  • independently source and pursue outside networking opportunities through professional industry resources and community events
  • negotiate, author, and submit finalized contracts and banquet event orders to clients and internal staff
  • address or coordinate all catering requirements and requests in a timely manner
  • maintain accurate records for all catering sales activities
  • communicate daily with food and beverage manager, culinary staff, catering staff, and operations staff about guest needs and expectations
  • maintain an extensive client database for follow-up sales calls and contact
  • assist with follow-up of guests’ experience ensuring all issues have been addressed
  • assist in planning and coordination of catered events
  • serve as primary group and convention contact once contracts are signed
  • assist with oversight of accounts receivable in conjunction with assigned events
