Job Requirements
- College degree preferred
- 2-3 years experience in a similar position in an upscale hotel
- Ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing
- Knowledge of various food service styles
- Familiarity with sales and marketing tools
- Ability to speak to groups of people
- Understand viticulture and be able to recommend wines
- Understand alcoholic beverages
- Understand culinary terms for menus
- Learn and master computer programs such as Delphi and Social Tables
- Previous guest relations training and experience
- Aggressive prospecting and selling
- Previous experience in catering and food service
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Exert physical effort in transporting up to 30 pounds to and from work area

Job Duties
- Meet with clients to work out details of their functions
- Outside calls on prospects to solicit business, analyzes requirements of function, outlines available hotel facilities and services offered and quotes prices
- Meets with potential clients to book definite corporate events
- Monitor the performance of events through verifications and analysis of customer satisfaction, and seek feedback from clients
- Assist the Director of Catering with budgets and forecasts
- Review daily activities such as catering activity, purchases, meetings, appointments, tastings, site inspections
- Ensure all BEOs and paperwork are completed properly and issued timely
- Arrange all food and beverage details for assigned functions
- Work with clients to prepare menus and floor plans and assist in other vendor needs
- Coordinate the preparation, presentation, and service of food and beverage products to ensure highest quality
- Develop new ideas to improve sales and promotion of Catering and Food and Beverage service in conjunction with Marketing, Food and Beverage, and Catering staff
- Perform any other duties reasonably assigned by the Catering Director
- May work in other hotel areas to assist operations when necessary
