Job Requirements

  • bachelor’s degree in business, hospitality management, marketing, or related field
  • minimum 2 years of experience in catering sales or related hotel disciplines
  • proven track record of exceeding sales targets and client satisfaction
  • valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • strong sales and negotiation skills
  • excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • ability to manage multiple programs and deadlines
  • proficiency in BEO creation and CRM software
  • ability to work in fast-paced environment
  • successful completion of background check
  • availability to attend client appointments and community events

Job Qualifications

  • minimum 2 years of experience in catering sales or related hotel disciplines including convention services, event planning and execution, banquet or culinary operations
  • proven track record of exceeding sales targets and client satisfaction metrics
  • bachelor’s degree in business, hospitality management, marketing, or related field
  • valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • strong sales and negotiation acumen
  • relationship builder with polished communication skills
  • detail-oriented event planner
  • highly organized with expertise in BEO creation, lead management, and CRM systems
  • strategic thinker with ability to align sales with business goals
  • comfortable in fast-paced, multi-property environment
  • proven ability to upsell and maximize revenue
  • confident presenter and team collaborator with hospitality work ethic

Job Duties

  • handle and follow up on inquiries for small meetings/events with or without guestrooms
  • follow up on leads by qualifying customer needs and event dates
  • negotiate contracts and banquet event orders (BEO)
  • identify and price customer needs, up-sell where possible, and close sales with customer deposits and signatures
  • communicate group details and changes to hotel departments
  • coordinate customer needs with property business and activities
  • present potential business at driver meetings
  • conduct client and hotel staff meetings to ensure event expectations
  • finalize and detail catering plans for groups
  • orchestrate functions on-site or off-site
  • prospect for new catering business using various methods including phone calls, outside sales calls, trade shows, community functions, internet prospecting, and supplier partnerships
  • monitor blocked space to ensure contractual obligations
  • initiate release of blocked space after cut-off date
  • maintain account files in software system
  • perform other duties as assigned
