Job Requirements
- Minimum two years of experience in catering sales, convention services, or event management within a hotel or hospitality setting
- bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
- valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- successful completion of background check prior to employment
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- ability to manage multiple client accounts and events simultaneously
- proficiency with event management software, PMS, CRM, and Microsoft Office
- strong negotiation and sales skills
- availability to work full-time
- commitment to maintaining a professional and client-focused demeanor
Job Qualifications
- Minimum two years of experience in catering sales, convention services, or event management within hospitality
- proven success managing multiple events and client accounts simultaneously
- demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales and client satisfaction targets
- familiarity with event management software, hotel PMS systems, CRM tools, and Microsoft Office Suite
- bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred
- strong sales and negotiation skills
- exceptional organizational, multitasking, communication, and interpersonal skills
- creative and strategic thinking abilities
- proven ability to upsell and maximize event revenue while maintaining guest satisfaction
Job Duties
- Collaborate with clients to understand event objectives and develop detailed plans
- manage the entire catering event lifecycle from inquiry to post-event follow-up
- serve as the primary contact between clients and hotel departments ensuring communication and coordination
- handle and follow up on catering and small meeting inquiries with proposal preparation and contract negotiation
- develop and maintain strong client relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals
- prospect for new catering business through networking and strategic partnerships
- conduct pre-convention meetings, site visits, and event walkthroughs
- collaborate with sales and operations teams to maximize revenue through upselling and event solutions
- monitor and manage room blocks, catering revenue, and contract fulfillment
- identify and implement operational improvements and cost control measures
- maintain accurate client records, contracts, and banquet event orders within software systems
