Job Requirements

  • Minimum education as required
  • Two or more years of experience in hotel catering or related field
  • Proven track record in quality customer service
  • Ability to manage multiple competing demands
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with hotel management software
  • Strong sales, negotiation, and closing skills
  • Physical ability to frequently walk, stand, sit, and lift up to ten pounds

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of hotel catering experience or similar industry
  • Proven ability to provide quality service consistently
  • Previous leadership experience preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of catering, food and beverage, and banquet operations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and preferably Delphi or similar hotel systems
  • Strong problem-solving, customer relations, and organizational skills
  • Effective decision-making and influence skills

Job Duties

  • Solicit and book new and repeat catering business through sales calls and networking
  • Plan, upsell, and coordinate meeting and function details including space, times, equipment, and menus
  • Prepare contracts and proposals, and coordinate with hotel departments to ensure smooth event execution
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of corporate and hotel procedures, products, and competitors
  • Build and strengthen relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Conduct site inspections and respond to catering inquiries
  • Use negotiation and creative selling skills to close business and achieve revenue goals
