Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 years experience in catering sales or related hospitality sales positions
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including some nights and weekends
- Exceptional customer service orientation
- Excellent negotiation and communication abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and sales CRM software
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality, business, marketing, or related field preferred
- Proven experience in catering sales or hospitality sales roles
- Strong knowledge of event planning and banquet management
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Proficiency in sales tracking and budgeting tools
- Demonstrated success in client relationship development and retention
- Comfortable representing the company at networking and industry events
Job Duties
- Drive catering revenue through proactive sales outreach, client relationship management, and a strong presence in the local market
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities both on and off campus, including corporate events, university departments, and community partnerships
- Build and maintain a strong client base through consistent follow-up, exceptional service, and attention to detail
- Represent Steenbock's on Orchard at networking events, industry functions, and community gatherings to expand brand presence and generate leads
- Create and execute strategic sales initiatives to grow repeat business and maximize revenue potential
- Assist with negotiations for on-site and off-site space contracts, coordinate food and beverage, and manage vendor services such as rentals or audiovisual equipment
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the planning process and event execution
- Communicate all event details, updates, and changes clearly with front-of-house and back-of-house teams
- Prepare proposals and assist with budget preparation, sales reporting, and invoicing
- Provide on-site support for select events, particularly with high-profile clients, to ensure seamless guest experiences
