Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 2 years experience in sales, marketing, guest services, front desk, or related professional field
- Or 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management or related major
- Ability to handle high-volume catering events
- Strong negotiation and contract closing skills
- Ability to work full-time on-site at Tampa Marriott Water Street

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Handles social and local corporate catering opportunities above group sales parameters
- Manages the sales efforts for local corporate and social catering
- Responds to incoming catering opportunities and qualifies new business
- Solicits affiliate business associated with citywide events
- Closes opportunities based on market conditions and needs
- Uses negotiating and creative selling skills to close business and contracts
- Develops and sells creative catered events and maximizes revenue by up-selling
- Manages catering sales revenue and budgets and provides forecasting reports
- Designs menus that drive sales
- Assists with selling and implementation of catering promotions
- Executes Marriott Customer Service Standards and Brand Standards
- Ensures seamless handover from sales to operations
- Monitors guest issues related to sales and channels issues appropriately
- Works collaboratively with off-property sales channels
- Interacts with kitchen, vendors, competitors, and hotel departments
- Provides exemplary customer service to drive satisfaction and loyalty
- Understands customer needs and recommends services
- Develops working relationships with operations to execute strategies
