Job Requirements
- high school diploma or GED
- 2 years experience in sales and marketing, guest services, front desk, or related professional OR 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major
- excellent negotiation and selling skills
- strong interpersonal and communication skills
- ability to manage multiple projects and clients
- knowledge of catering and event planning
- ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments

Job Qualifications

- OR 2-year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major with no experience required
- catering sales experience preferred
Job Duties
- handles social and local corporate catering opportunities above group sales team parameters
- manages sales efforts for local corporate and social catering
- responds to incoming catering opportunities and solicits new business
- negotiates contracts using creative selling and negotiating skills
- develops and sells creative catered events
- maximizes revenue through up-selling packages and food and beverage
- manages catering sales revenue and operation budgets
- develops menus that drive sales
- assists with selling and following through catering promotions
- executes Marriott's customer service and brand standards
- ensures seamless turnover from sales to operations
- monitors guest issue resolutions
- increases revenues and controls expenses
- contracts and closes local catering and social business
- implements brand service strategy and drives customer loyalty
- achieves revenue goals by up-selling each business opportunity
- works collaboratively with off-property sales channels
- interacts effectively with sales, kitchen, vendors, competitors, and other hotel departments
- executes exemplary customer service to drive satisfaction and loyalty
- recommends appropriate features and services that meet customer needs
- develops close working relationship with operations to execute property strategies
