Job Qualifications
- Experience in sales and catering management or related hospitality sales field
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple accounts and prioritize tasks
- Proficient in contract creation and client documentation
- Knowledge of hotel operations and event management
- Ability to conduct hotel site inspections
- Negotiation and creative selling skills
- High school diploma or equivalent, bachelor's degree preferred
Job Duties
- Prospecting for new business including internet prospecting, cold calling and contacting former clients
- attending industry events and programs
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Responding in a timely manner to incoming group and catering business opportunities
- Conducting hotel site inspections and client presentations in person and virtually
- Creating contracts and related booking documentation including activity tracking
- managing and maintaining client account files
- Detailing events to include food and beverage, set up and audio visual needs
- making appropriate suggestions to meet group and hotel needs
- Creating group resumes and communicating client needs to hotel departments
- ensuring hotel staff follow through on requests
- Using negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close business and negotiate contracts
