Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 1 year hotel sales or catering experience
  • Knowledge of hotel industry operations
  • Must have proven selling, negotiating, and presentation skills
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in event planning and client management

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • College degree preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of hotel sales or catering experience
  • Knowledge of hotel industry operations
  • Dynamic and creative leadership skills
  • Strong command of English language, written and verbal
  • Proven selling, negotiating, and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of intermediate sales techniques
  • Highly developed customer service skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience with Event Temple or Opera Cloud preferred
  • Ability to delegate, train, and coach
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Solicitation and prospecting in local, corporate, and social catering markets
  • Discuss event details with planners including room setup, food and beverage, and audio visual
  • Prepare proposals, contracts, and client documents
  • Plan and detail booked events
  • Serve as on-site contact for group and standalone events
  • Organize and communicate on-site events such as internal meetings
  • Conduct property tours to establish new customer relationships
  • Maximize catering and banquet revenues and minimize price erosion
  • Communicate function arrangements to hotel departments
  • Negotiate and close catering contracts
  • Create profitable menus and distribute client expectations
  • Participate in networking and community events
  • Verify all event arrangements against client specifications
  • Follow up to ensure repeat bookings
  • Update client prospects through active prospecting
  • Employ up-selling techniques to maximize hotel revenues
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Sales
