Job Requirements

  • Hospitality degree or equivalent experience
  • minimum two years related experience
  • knowledge of rooms, catering, food and beverage, and hospitality practices
  • strong communication and negotiation skills
  • ability to work extended hours and weekends when required
  • ability to handle multiple tasks and client needs concurrently
  • commitment to high customer service standards

Job Qualifications

  • Hospitality degree or four-year college degree preferred
  • minimum of two years' experience required in a related position with this company or other organizations
  • thorough knowledge of practices and procedures of rooms, catering, food & beverage and hospitality professions
  • communication skills in negotiation, persuasion, selling and influencing professionals and/or resort guests

Job Duties

  • Solicit, book, plan and coordinate meetings/functions while maximizing the banquet space to meet/exceed sales goals
  • solicit, negotiate and book social catering events through outside sales calls, telemarketing, networking, etc., while maximizing banquet space to meet/exceed revenue goals
  • execute a territorial marketing strategy to capture the maximum amount of revenue and meet/exceed sales goals
  • plan, up-sell and detail the meeting/function with the client including space requirements, times, equipment, menus, themes/decorations, etc.
  • complete contracts, prepare appropriate paperwork, coordinate with appropriate hotel areas, and resolve customer issues to ensure quality product delivery and customer satisfaction
  • prepare status and month end reports to keep management abreast of activities
  • maintain up-to-date knowledge of corporate/hotel procedures and products and the competition's product, strengths and weaknesses
