Job Requirements

  • 2 years experience in catering or related food service business
  • Ability to handle physical demands such as lifting 20-50 lbs frequently
  • Willingness to work in variable temperatures and wet conditions
  • Ability to work from ladders or awkward positions
  • Must hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
  • Physical exam required as part of hiring process

Job Qualifications

  • 2 years experience in catering or related food service business
  • Ability to supervise and coordinate multiple teams
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Experience in training and mentoring staff
  • Familiarity with event setup and service protocols
  • Ability to manage stressful situations calmly
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Brigham Young University

Job Duties

  • Coordinate with customers regarding room setup and final service instructions
  • Coordinate with Banquet Captain for needed equipment
  • Consult with culinary staff for proper plate design and meal serving
  • Supervise student staff at events
  • Consult with custodial services regarding room setup
  • Assist with training student staff by conducting or participating in training meetings
  • Serve as Wedding Coordinator for BYU Catering when assigned
