Job Requirements

  • Must have a love of natural, organic and specialty food
  • Ability to sell catering services
  • Must have a minimum of two years managerial experience
  • Ability to oversee, organize team and execute events
  • Team player involved at any level to ensure client expectations are exceeded
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong understanding of catering operations
  • Associate’s degree in catering or food service strongly preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Knowledge of the Ann Arbor market and catering contacts
  • Stand and walk for up to 4 hours without a break
  • Ability to bend and stoop to grasp objects, climb ladders, lift loads up to 50 lbs unassisted, push and pull carts weighing up to 100 lbs unassisted

Job Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in catering or food service strongly preferred
  • Minimum of two years managerial experience
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong understanding of catering operations
  • Ability to sell catering services
  • Knowledge of the Ann Arbor market and catering contacts
  • Ability to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Passion for natural, organic, and specialty foods

Job Duties

  • Model and provide exceptional guest service
  • Oversee the successful completion of in-store catering
  • Train, mentor and coach team members to succeed
  • Effectively resolve client issues
  • Meet deadlines regarding catering preparation
  • Generate folders with BEO and follow-up comments for each event
  • Prepare menus with accurate pricing, descriptions, and labor calculations
  • Distribute BEOs to proper team members and display them in the prepared foods department
  • Follow up with guests to gain feedback
  • Process all invoices in a timely manner for accounting
  • Acquire new catering clients
  • Communicate effectively with guests, team members, and store leadership
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of Plum Market policies and standards
