Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One to three years of related work experience
  • Ability to work night and weekend shifts
  • Physical ability to exert up to 50 pounds occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly
  • Ability to perform physical activities such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to perform arithmetic calculations
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Must complete pre-employment drug screen

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Over one year up to three years of related work experience in catering or similar field
  • Ability to solve practical problems
  • Skill in arithmetic calculations including fractions, decimals and percentages
  • Ability to compose original correspondence and follow technical manuals
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage with customers and employees
  • Leadership experience to instruct, assign and review work
  • Experience in managing bookkeeping and pricing procedures
  • Knowledge of equipment used in catering environments
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store
  • Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing products, loading or unloading heavy items, making note of customer suggestions, performing other tasks to enhance shopping experience
  • Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service
  • Handles and satisfies customer issues
  • Determines department goals with store director
  • Meets with customers to determine needs
  • Writes detailed orders and coordinates with all departments
  • Contacts businesses and prospective customers to inform about catering services
  • Develops contracts for exclusive catering
  • Recommends and buys equipment with approval
  • Consults customers on rental companies
  • Attends manager meetings and obtains baseline prices
  • Figures retail pricing and ensures correct pricing
  • Prepares customer bills, extends and posts invoices, oversees bookkeeping
  • Develops and maintains standard catering practices and checks quality control
  • Answers and returns phone calls promptly
  • Develops guidelines for department performance in absence of manager
  • Organizes shows and events such as bridal and holiday shows
  • Sets up event displays and communicates with events coordinator
  • Ensures proper temperature and storage procedures
  • Understands and troubleshoots equipment and ensures maintenance
  • Maintains strict adherence to hygiene and dress guidelines
  • Adheres to company policies and store guidelines
  • Reports to work as scheduled and works expected hours
