Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in catering coordination or related field
  • Basic understanding of food safety and health regulations
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Valid driver’s license preferred
  • Ability to lift and move catering equipment
  • Strong multitasking capability

Job Duties

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all catering events in the building
  • Manage event timelines, menus, and logistics to ensure smooth operations
  • Liaise with Resident Services and Residents to organize, set up and execute catering requests
  • Partner with the Programs department to align event setups, layouts, and expectations
  • Work closely with the Chef and Food and Beverage department staff to align catering needs with available resources
  • Oversee catering setup, service, and breakdown for events of varying sizes
  • Maintain catering supplies, inventory, and vendor relationships
  • Monitor catering budgets and track costs to remain within established allowances
  • Act as the lead coordinator for catering, ensuring responsibilities are clearly defined and delegated when needed
  • Communicate effectively across departments to ensure events are executed smoothly
  • Provide post-event evaluations and feedback to continuously improve services
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to residents and guests during events
  • Respond to special requests, resolve issues quickly, and ensure a positive overall experience
  • Help promote a strong sense of community through high-quality catering services
  • Assist in accurate tracking, recording, and reconciliation of inventory levels
  • Support the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of POS systems to ensure smooth daily operations
  • Coordinate and process billing requests from residents and the Financial Department to ensure timely and accurate invoices
  • Assist with daily dining room activities as needed to support smooth service and customer satisfaction
  • Pursue opportunities to improve department processes
  • Learn additional duties as well as assist in other departments as needed
