Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality, or related field preferred
  • minimum 1 year experience in hotel catering sales
  • strong knowledge of San Diego market
  • proven track record in sales and revenue growth
  • excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • proficiency in hotel sales software and Microsoft Office
  • strong organizational skills
  • ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • passion for guest service and hospitality

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality Management, or related field preferred
  • 1+ years of experience in hotel catering sales
  • knowledge of San Diego market and established industry contacts
  • demonstrated success in meeting and exceeding sales targets
  • strong communication and negotiation skills
  • proficiency in hotel sales software such as STS
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • strong organizational and time management skills
  • flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Develop and implement comprehensive catering and events strategy aligned with hotel revenue goals
  • lead, mentor, and develop catering and events team
  • collaborate with sales, food and beverage, and operations departments
  • drive catering revenue through proactive sales and relationship building
  • manage key accounts and high-profile clients
  • oversee creation of proposals, contracts, and BEOs
  • ensure proper event detailing, execution, and follow-through
  • communicate event details across departments
  • monitor event setups, service, and breakdown
  • create annual budgets, forecasts, and strategic plans
  • monitor revenue, profitability, and costs
  • approve pricing, packages, and service charges
  • maintain accurate records and reports
  • ensure compliance with hotel policies, brand standards, and legal regulations
  • represent the hotel at industry, networking, and community events
