Job Description

As a Cashier/Zoo Retail Assistant, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to Zoo guests while managing retail and food service transactions. Your role will involve processing admissions fees, handling retail food service, and maintaining cash and fund accounts accurately. You will also be expected to prepare and serve food in compliance with City standards and keep the retail and food service areas clean and organized. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • minimum one year of customer service experience
  • valid Texas driver's license
  • must obtain Texas food handler's certificate within 90 days of hire
  • ability to perform cashier and retail duties
  • capability to operate City utility vehicle
  • compliant with City policies and procedures

Job Duties

  • Provide prompt and courteous cashier and retail services to the public
  • process fees for admissions and retail food service
  • maintain cash and fund accounts and records
  • prepare and serve food and maintain cleanliness standards
  • operate City utility vehicle throughout Zoo grounds to transport retail supplies, food service items, and sanitation materials
  • support daily operations by ensuring timely delivery and pickup of materials
  • perform other related duties as assigned
  • comply with all City policies and standards
  • actively contribute to positive guest experiences
  • demonstrate courteous and cooperative behavior with residents, visitors, and City staff
