Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older in specified states (CT, FL, LA, MI, MA, MS, MO, NC, SC, TX, TN, AZ, and CO)
- Must be 21 years of age or older in all other states
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays
- Must be prepared to work hard and stay on feet for most shifts
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen
- Must be subject to criminal history background check
Job Qualifications
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication
- Capable of frequently lifting 10 lbs and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs
- Friendly demeanor and a knack for making people feel welcome
- Detail-oriented with the ability to notice the little things that enhance customer experience
- Punctual, trustworthy, and takes pride in work
- Adaptable and ready to take on various tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Previous experience in retail or customer service is appreciated but not required
Job Duties
- Greet every customer with a smile and run the register with accuracy and speed
- Become an expert in lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales ensuring compliance with age verification and legal requirements
- Offer friendly service and upsell customers when possible to increase sales
- Keep the inside and outside of the store clean and safe including deep cleaning high-use restrooms
- Wipe down and sanitize gas pumps including nozzles, screens, and water buckets
- Pick up litter and trash from the floor and lot area
- Take out the trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays to keep merchandise looking fresh and full
- Maintain a clean and organized store by sweeping, mopping, cleaning windows, and maintaining entryways
- Willingly cross-train in other departments including deli as needed
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
- Be a team player and step in to help wherever needed
