Working at Kaweah Health means joining a team that truly makes a difference in people’s lives daily. The role available within the Food and Nutrition Services Department, specifically in the Ambrosia unit, is a full-time position with variable shifts typically lasting 8 hours or less. This position is ideal for individuals who want to use their talents in a setting that empowers them to perform at their best and contribute meaningfully to the health and happiness of the community.

The Food Service Worker role is essential to the delivery of excellent food services in all of Kaweah Health’s food service locations. Working either in the cafeteria/retail service or in cold food and catering assignments, the worker’s responsibilities include food preparation, customer service, maintaining cleanliness standards, and ensuring food safety by monitoring temperatures and following proper portioning techniques. They also assist with catering setup and cleanup, aid in stocking workstations, and help deliver patient trays when required. The role demands attention to detail, the ability to follow recipes and food handling guidelines, and a commitment to maintaining a sanitary environment.

Kaweah Health values candidates with a high school diploma and prefers applicants who have at least six months of cashier experience. The ideal worker is someone who enjoys providing excellent customer service, is attentive to food safety regulations, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. By joining Kaweah Health in this capacity, employees become part of a dedicated team that supports the community’s health through nutritious food services that enhance patient care and satisfaction.
