Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

- Ability to operate cash registers and handle cash accurately

Job Duties
- Thoroughly clean all areas of the cafeteria including serving areas, tables, chairs, floors, counters, shelves, cashier stands, coolers, beverage area, and equipment
- Provide excellent customer service by taking food orders, serving food, and preparing food for hospital food service patrons
- Serve customers following proper portioning techniques
- Take and record food temperatures and take appropriate action if temperatures are out of range
- Operate cash register following Kaweah Health guidelines for cash handling and customer service
- Assist with catering setup and cleanup as needed
- Stock work stations and dispose of garbage according to department standards
- Deliver patient trays if needed
- Prepare salads, sandwiches, and desserts following recipes and product directions
- Operate kitchen equipment to measure and mix ingredients, wash, peel, cut, and shred fruits and vegetables
- Taste products, read menus, estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records
- Perform catering assignments including food preparation, room setup, replenishing food items, and cleanup
- Deliver and replenish food in Physicians Lounge and maintain temperature control and cleanliness
- Stock and record food supplies usage
- Deliver food supplies to Kaweah Kids including operating a van and maintaining records
- Minimize food waste
- Clean and sanitize workstations, equipment, and counters
- Store products according to procedure
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and services appropriate to the population served on assigned unit or work area
- Perform other duties as assigned
