Job Requirements

Must be able to perform mathematical operations related to job functions
Must have ability to identify various produce items and correlate corresponding produce codes
Must enjoy training and helping team members learn
Must enjoy working with the public
Must have good communication skills
Must be self-motivated
Must have a friendly, courteous attitude, and provide extraordinary customer service
Must exhibit a responsible, professional, and positive attitude towards the job, co-workers, and customers
Must have a positive attitude, towards safety, and be committed to follow all health and safety regulations and/or policies to ensure the well-being of oneself, fellow team members, customers and vendors
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
Must be able to transfer to other locations within a reasonable commute of home store
Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job
Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English

Job Qualifications

Six months of cashiering experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
Ability to perform mathematical operations related to cashiering
Strong communication skills
Experience in training or mentoring team members
Friendly and courteous attitude
Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service

Job Duties

Provide thorough training to new and existing cashiers in accordance with Vallarta Supermarkets Cashier Training Program
Monitor and ensure cashiers follow all cashiering policies and procedures
Identify all produce items and corresponding codes and train cashiers accordingly
Evaluate cashier performance and communicate observations to Store Directors
Greet customers warmly and deliver extraordinary customer service
Assist customers in locating products to meet department goals
Maintain a professional, positive, and safety-conscious work environment
