Job Requirements

  • No prior retail experience required
  • ability to lift 50 pounds
  • ability to stand or walk 6-8 hours per 8-hour shift
  • hand use including grasping, manipulation, pushing and pulling
  • ability to bend, twist, squat, and reach
  • exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • exposure to varying temperatures including freezing and above 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • ability to work in wet and cold environments
  • availability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to use tools and equipment including box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other machinery
  • may require ladder use

Job Duties

  • Checks out customer groceries efficiently and accurately
  • upholds government regulations concerning sale of alcoholic beverages and taxation
  • follows proper check, ATM, and credit procedures
  • uses proper tares procedures when ringing up scalable items
  • cleans and stocks Front End areas including own register
  • follows all cash handling procedures meeting and exceeding regional cashier variance policy
  • assists in training of new Cashier and Cashier Assistant Team Members
  • helps control customer flow and reduce waiting times
  • participates in company programs as directed
  • arrives on time, groomed, dressed, and ready to work all scheduled shifts
  • provides excellent customer service and models suggestive selling techniques
  • maximizes sales potential through proper stocking and merchandising
  • complies with health, sanitation, safe work practices, and Weights and Measures regulations
  • maintains a clean and sanitary work and shopping environment
  • performs opening, mid, and closing duties including ensuring pricing accuracy
  • reports safety hazards and violations immediately
  • performs other duties as assigned by leadership
  • completes shopper training and may perform assigned shopper tasks within Customer Service Team
