Job Requirements

  • no prior retail experience required
  • must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • standing or walking 6-8 hours per day
  • hand use including single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
  • ability to bend, twist, squat, and reach
  • exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • exposure to cold and hot temperatures
  • ability to work in wet and cold environment
  • ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to use tools and equipment including box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and heavy machinery
  • may require use of ladders

Job Duties

  • checks out customer groceries efficiently and accurately
  • upholds government regulations concerning sale of alcoholic beverages and taxation
  • follows proper check, ATM, and credit procedures
  • uses proper tares procedures when ringing up scalable items
  • cleans and stocks front end areas, including own register
  • follows all cash handling procedures
  • assists with training of new cashier and cashier assistant team members
  • helps reduce customer waiting time by assisting supervisor in controlling customer flow
  • participates proactively in company programs
  • arrives to workstation on time and ready to work
  • provides excellent customer service addressing customer needs promptly
  • maximizes sales through effective prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising products
  • follows and ensures compliance with established procedures including weights and measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices
  • maintains clean and sanitary working and shopping environment
  • performs opening, mid, and closing duties
  • reports safety hazards and violations
  • performs other duties as assigned by leadership
  • may be assigned shopper tasks within the Customer Service Team
