Job Requirements

  • No prior retail experience required
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand and walk 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday
  • Ability to use hand motions including single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
  • Capability to perform bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching motions
  • Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • Ability to work in temperatures below 32 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators), and above 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Ability to work in a wet and cold environment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to use tools and equipment including box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
  • May require use of ladders

Job Duties

  • Check out customer groceries efficiently and accurately
  • Uphold government regulations concerning sale of alcoholic beverages and taxation
  • Follow proper check, ATM, and credit procedures
  • Use proper tares procedures when ringing up scalable items
  • Clean and stock Front End areas including own register, changing tapes and ribbon as necessary
  • Follow all cash handling procedures meeting and exceeding regional cashier variance policy
  • Assist with training of new Cashier and Cashier Assistant Team Members
  • Assist supervisor in controlling customer flow and backed up lines to reduce customer waiting time
  • Participate proactively in company programs as directed by leadership
  • Arrive to workstation on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
  • Provide excellent customer service and address needs of customers in a timely and effective manner
  • Maximize sales potential through effective procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product
  • Follow and ensure compliance with established procedures including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment
  • Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned
  • Report safety hazards and violations immediately
  • Perform other duties as assigned by store or company leadership
  • Complete shopper training and perform shopper tasks within the Customer Service Team as required
