Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • ability to stand/walk 6-8 hours in an 8-hour work day
  • hand use including single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling
  • ability to perform bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching motions
  • exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • exposure to freezing, refrigerated, and high temperature environments
  • ability to work in wet and cold conditions
  • ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to use tools and equipment including box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
  • may require use of ladders

Job Duties

  • Checks out customer groceries efficiently and accurately
  • upholds government regulations concerning sale of alcoholic beverages and taxation
  • follows proper check, ATM, and credit procedures
  • uses proper tares procedures when ringing up scalable items
  • cleans and stocks front end areas, including own register
  • follows all cash handling procedures
  • may assist with training of new cashier and cashier assistant team members
  • assists supervisor in controlling customer flow and backed up lines
  • proactively participates in company programs as directed by leadership
  • arrives to workstation on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
  • provides excellent customer service, addresses needs of customers promptly
  • maximizes sales potential through effective product preparation and merchandising
  • maintains compliance with weights and measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices
  • maintains clean and sanitary working and shopping environment
  • performs opening, mid, and closing duties
  • reports safety hazards and violations
  • performs other duties as assigned
  • may be assigned shopper training and tasks
