Job Requirements

  • No prior retail experience required
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Standing or walking for 6-8 hours during an 8-hour work day
  • Ability to perform hand use including single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
  • Capability to perform bending, twisting, squatting and reaching motions
  • Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • Ability to work in temperatures below 32 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators), above 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Ability to work in wet and cold environments
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to use tools and equipment such as box cutters, electric pallet jacks and other heavy machinery
  • May require use of ladders
  • Arrive to work on time, appropriately groomed and dressed
  • Work all scheduled shifts and attend required trainings and meetings

Job Duties

  • Check out customer groceries efficiently and accurately
  • Uphold government regulations concerning sale of alcoholic beverages and taxation
  • Follow proper check, ATM, and credit procedures
  • Use proper tares procedures when ringing up scalable items
  • Clean and stock Front End areas, including own register – changing tapes and ribbon as necessary
  • Follow all cash handling procedures – meeting and exceeding regional cashier variance policy
  • Assist with training of new Cashier and Cashier Assistant Team Members
  • Assist supervisor in controlling customer flow and backed up lines – helping reduce customer waiting time
  • Participate proactively in company programs as directed by leadership
  • Arrive to workstation on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
  • Provide excellent customer service, address needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and model suggestive selling techniques
  • Maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product
  • Follow and comply, or ensure compliance, with established procedures including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment
  • Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned
  • Ensure accuracy of signs and pricing
  • Immediately report safety hazards and violations
  • Perform other duties as assigned by store or company leadership
  • For US only hired November 2024 and beyond, complete shopper training and execute shopper tasks within the Customer Service Team as needed
