Job Requirements
- Flexible to work in shifts including weekdays weekends and holidays
- ability to stand for long periods
- good communication skills in English and optionally in Cantonese or Mandarin
- good knowledge of Canadian currency
- basic math skills
- experience in cash handling preferred
- knowledge of workplace safety
- ability to work safely with work-related tools
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience in cashier or customer service roles
- good communication skills in English
- ability to communicate in Cantonese or Mandarin is an asset
- knowledge of basic workplace safety
- familiarity with Canadian currency and mathematics
- experience in handling cash preferred
- flexible availability including shift work
Job Duties
- Provide fast and accurate checkout service
- build rapport with customers and fulfill their requests
- prevent possible fraud including transaction discrepancies and counterfeit identification
- provide proper packing service separating light and heavy items and hot and cold items
- greet customers with friendly enthusiasm and good customer service
- timely processing of fresh and frozen goods while preventing shortages
- monitor checkout stations for cleanliness and functionality
- perform other duties as assigned by superiors
