Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of cashiering and cash handling experience
  • Ability to accurately handle large amounts of cash
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills
  • Commitment to positive customer service philosophy
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to analyze and reconcile cash deposits
  • Ability to operate office equipment including computer, ten key adding machine, telephone, copier, credit card terminals, and printers
  • Knowledge of modern office procedures
  • Basic math and organizational skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
  • Understanding of confidentiality and FERPA guidelines

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associate degree preferred
  • General knowledge of accounting procedures
  • Ability to accurately handle large amounts of cash
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Internet
  • Ability to analyze, reconcile, and prepare deposits and related financial data
  • Familiarity with modern office procedures and equipment
  • Basic math and alphabetizing skills
  • Strong initiative and ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
  • Detail oriented

Job Duties

  • Provide excellent customer service for Business Office student facing transactions
  • Process student payments and departmental deposits
  • Track receipt, application, and return of third-party scholarship funds as per instructions
  • Prepare daily deposits
  • Answer telephone and respond to student emails
  • Prepare and reconcile cash receipts for all campuses
  • Operate and balance cash drawer
  • Maintain confidentiality of information as per FERPA guidelines
  • Enter daily cash activity into computer system
  • Maintain parking decal and application fee spreadsheets
  • Assist in recording parking citations
  • Conduct outreach to students via phone and/or email
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
