Job Requirements
- follow dress uniform policy
- pass produce code test
- pass WIC grocery test
- comply with ABC alcohol beverage control regulations including age verification for alcohol and cigarettes
- ability to lift boxes and products ranging between 20 lbs up to 60 lbs
- ability to push pull and handle items up to 200 lbs
- ability to bend and stoop to place products below waist level and on shelves
- good physical stamina to perform duties and maintain workstation cleanliness
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- previous cashier or customer service experience is an asset
- ability to handle cash accurately and efficiently
- good communication and interpersonal skills
- basic math skills
- familiarity with retail point of sale systems beneficial
- ability to pass produce code and WIC grocery tests
- knowledge of cash irregularities and compliance policies
Job Duties
- Operate cash till balancing the till at the end of your shift
- greet all customers in a friendly manner
- complete all sales transactions including cash credit card debit card WIC and food stamps
- cash checks in accordance with policy
- bag merchandise after sales transaction is completed and paid for
- thank customers for their patronage
- maintain a clean workstation
- walk produce department daily
- know weekly specials
- sign in and out for breaks
- scan items per minute within policy
- follow the cash irregularities policy
- assist and participate with company marketing promotional events and programs as needed
