Job Requirements
- Follow dress/uniform policy
- must pass Produce Code Test
- must pass WIC Grocery Test
- must follow Alcohol Beverage Control regulations
- must ask for identification for individuals who appear under 35 for alcohol purchases
- must ask for identification for individuals who appear under 21 for cigarette purchases
- able to lift boxes between 20 lbs and 60 lbs
- able to push or pull between 30 lbs and 200 lbs
- able to bend and stoop to pick or place product below waist level
- maintain cleanliness and order of workstation
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- prior cashier or retail experience is an advantage
- ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and bending
- good communication and customer service skills
- able to pass the Produce Code Test
- able to pass the WIC Grocery Test
- knowledge of ABC regulations
- capable of working in a fast-paced retail environment
Job Duties
- Operate cash till balancing the till at the end of your shift
- greet all customers in a friendly manner
- complete all sales transactions including cash, credit card, debit card, WIC and food stamps
- cash checks in accordance with policy
- bag merchandise after sales transaction is completed and paid for
- thank customers for their patronage
- maintain a clean workstation
- walk the produce department daily
- know weekly specials
- sign in and out for breaks
- scan items per minute within policy
- follow the cash irregularities policy
- assist and participate with company marketing promotional events and programs as needed
