Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- ability to stand and move on hard surfaces for extended periods
- capability to lift objects up to 30 pounds frequently
- ability to bend, stoop and reach to examine or scan merchandise
- reliable, punctual with regular attendance
- good communication skills
- ability to work as part of a team
- basic proficiency with point-of-sale technology
Job Qualifications
- basic math skills preferred
- prior cashier or sales experience preferred
Job Duties
- exhibit clear understanding of all BJ's membership options including renewals and loyalty programs
- offer all appropriate membership products such as renewals, EASY renewal option, loyalty programs and rewards redemption
- provide high level of customer service to members
- scan all club merchandise through point-of-sale system
- collect payments via cash, check or other charge methods
- issue receipts or change due to members
- assist members with self-checkout and scan and pan lanes
- maintain cleanliness of frontline area
- support general club housekeeping
- ensure club policies and procedures are followed
- perform other duties as assigned including working in other departments as needed
- maintain regular, predictable attendance
