Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency degree
- 1-2 years grocery retail experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of math and weights
- Ability to use POS system
- Excellent customer service skills
- Flexibility to work varied hours
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
- Strong communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work in team environment
- Basic computer skills including MS Office
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency degree
- Preferred 1-2 years grocery retail experience in front end department processes and procedures
- Previous experience in natural foods industry is a plus
- Must maintain highest level of customer service
- Ability to adapt in a high volume retail environment
- Capacity to take initiative when problems arise
- Flexibility to adapt in various situations
- Advanced attention to detail with ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of MS Office including Outlook, Word and Excel
- Ability to multitask with excellent organizational skills
- Support and contribute to team goals
- Basic knowledge of math, weights, and measures
- Demonstrated ability to use a Point of Sale System (POS)
Job Duties
- Walks the store prior to each shift to ensure awareness of promotional and sale items
- Do produce walk and weekly testing
- Computes bill, itemized lists, and tickets showing amount due
- Receives payment by cash, check, credit cards, gift cards, or automatic debits
- Issues receipts, refunds, credits, rain checks or change due to customers
- Operates cash register by passing price coded items across electronic scanner to record price, enter in PLU or UPC manually, compile printed list, and display cost of customer purchase, tax, and rebates on monitor screen
- Greets customers entering store and responds promptly to customer needs
- Maintains clean and orderly checkout areas
- Issues coupons and rain checks
- Performs other duties as assigned
