Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Availability to work Saturday, Tuesday, and Friday from 1pm to 9pm
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 30 pounds frequently
- Capacity to bend, handle, pull, reach, and stoop as needed
- Ability to maintain a friendly and positive demeanor
- Commitment to regular and predictable attendance
- Willingness to adhere to company policies and procedures
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
- Readiness to assist in other departments when required
Job Qualifications
- Basic math skills preferred
- Prior cashier or sales experience preferred
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Positive and friendly attitude
- Comfortable operating point-of-sale systems
- Ability to handle cash and various payment methods
- Effective communication skills
Job Duties
- Process member purchases courteously and efficiently
- Verify, renew, and upgrade memberships
- Scan merchandise accurately and manage point-of-sale transactions
- Collect payments including cash, check, and charge payments
- Maintain cleanliness of the front-line department and assist with general housekeeping
- Manage self-checkout and scan and pan lanes, assisting members with technical difficulties
- Uphold BJ's club policies, procedures, and standards
- Provide excellent member service and resolve concerns
- Adhere to cashier productivity expectations
- Perform other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed
- Maintain regular, predictable attendance
