Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week
- Open availability including weekdays, weekends, mornings, evenings, and night shifts
- Ability to stand for 5 to 8 hours per shift
- Reliable and self-motivated
- Must be able to work independently and as a team player
- Must be located in or able to commute to Hilo, HI 96720
Job Qualifications
- High school or equivalent preferred
- Experience with cash handling is an advantage
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Basic math skills
- Customer service experience is a plus
- Adaptability to flexible shifts
Job Duties
- Handle cash, credit or check transactions with customers
- Scan goods and collect payments
- Ensure pricing is correct
- Issue change and receipts
- Count money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change
- Make sales referrals, cross-sell products, and introduce new ones
- Greet customers when entering or leaving establishment
- Maintain clean and tidy checkout areas
- Keep reports of transactions
- Answer customers' questions and get a manager if answer doesn't solve the issue
- Pleasantly deal with customers to ensure satisfaction
- Be able to stand 5 to 8 hours at the register
- If scheduled to close, cleaning chores are assigned to do
- Should also be creative and adaptable to changing demands
