Job Duties
- Operate cash register and electronic scanner to itemize customer purchases
- process financial transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, rain checks, voids, and coupons
- weigh and carefully bag customer purchases
- maintain and efficiently operate check-stand equipment including register, scanner, scale, and belts
- merchandise check-stand items such as newspapers, periodicals, and candy
- ensure correct product identification and pricing accuracy
- communicate company programs, in-store specials, and coupons to customers
- comply with company policies regarding security, cash handling, product handling, and sale of restricted products
- maintain cleanliness and stock levels in the department
- assist with stocking items
- follow PPE and safety guidelines
- follow food safety and cleaning expectations
- adhere to guest experience guidelines
- perform tasks in other departments as assigned
- undertake additional responsibilities as needed
