Job Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Comfortable moving around the store to assist with tasks as needed
- Proficient in handling transactions and counting cash accurately
- Clear vision and hearing to ensure transactions are accurate and customers are heard in a busy atmosphere
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds when needed
- Handle fresh ingredients without issues
- Capability to bend, stoop, twist, push, pull, and reach both above head and below waist level
- Capacity to perform repetitive tasks, such as sample preparation with a focus on accuracy and consistency
- Comfortable working in various temperatures
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous retail or cashier experience preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic math skills for cash handling
- Ability to use point-of-sale (POS) systems
- Customer-oriented mindset
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and accuracy
Job Duties
- Greet customers with a positive attitude, answer questions, and provide assistance in a friendly and professional manner
- Accurately scan and process all purchases, apply discounts, and handle payments (cash, credit, debit, mobile payments)
- Maintain an organized and efficient checkout area, including bagging items and ensuring the safe transfer of products to customers
- Stay informed about store products, promotions, and store policies to assist customers with their shopping needs
- Handle cash drawer responsibly, provide accurate change, and balance the register at the beginning and end of each shift
- Occasionally assist with stocking shelves, organizing products, and ensuring that the checkout area is clean and well-stocked
- Address customer concerns or issues promptly and escalate to a supervisor if needed to ensure customer satisfaction
- Adhere to store policies, health and safety regulations, and other relevant guidelines while performing job duties
