Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency degree
- 1-2 years experience in grocery retail front end department preferred
- previous natural foods industry experience is a plus
- ability to maintain customer service excellence
- ability to work varied hours and days as business dictates
- capacity to take initiative and adapt in diverse situations
- excellent communication skills
- proficiency in MS Office
- ability to multitask and organize effectively
- knowledge of basic math and measurements
- ability to use POS system
- physical ability to stand for long periods, walk continuously, and perform occasional bending, crouching, and reaching
- ability to lift items up to 50 lbs occasionally
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency degree
- preferred 1-2 years grocery retail experience in front end department processes and procedures
- previous experience in natural foods industry is a plus
- ability to maintain the highest level of customer service at all times
- ability to adapt to a fast-paced, high volume retail environment
- strong initiative and flexibility
- advanced attention to detail with capability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- excellent written communication and documentation skills
- excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- knowledge of MS Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- ability to multitask and possess excellent organizational skills
- ability to support and contribute to team goals
- basic knowledge of math, weights, and measures
- ability to use a Point of Sale System (POS)
Job Duties
- Walk the store prior to each shift to ensure awareness of promotional and sale items
- do produce walk and weekly testing
- compute bill, itemized lists, and tickets showing amount due
- receive payment by cash, check, credit cards, gift cards, or automatic debits
- issue receipts, refunds, credits, rain checks or change due to customers
- operate cash register by scanning price coded items, entering PLU or UPC manually, compiling list, and displaying costs on monitor screen
- greet customers entering store and respond promptly to customer needs
- maintain clean and orderly checkout areas and make sure no personnel items are in the area
- issue coupons and rain checks
- assist customers as needed
- maintain friendly and energetic demeanor
- adhere to all procedural guidelines set by the Front End Department
- perform other duties as assigned
