Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency degree
- 1-2 years grocery retail experience preferred
- must maintain high level of customer service
- ability to operate POS system
- ability to work in cross-functional teams
- capacity to take initiative
- flexibility to adapt to various situations
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- knowledge of basic math, weights, and measures
- ability to multitask and organize
- ability to work varied hours and days
- must be able to stand and walk for extended periods
- occasional lifting of 0-50 lbs
- must be detail-oriented
- availability to work in a fast-paced environment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency degree
- preferred 1-2 years grocery retail experience in front-end department
- previous experience in natural foods industry preferred
- strong customer service skills
- ability to adapt to high-volume retail environment
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- basic math skills
- knowledge of POS systems
- ability to multitask and prioritize
- proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- initiative-taking and problem-solving abilities
- flexibility to work varied hours
Job Duties
- Walks the store prior to each shift to identify promotional and sale items
- conducts produce walk and weekly testing
- computes bill, itemized lists, and tickets showing amount due
- receives payment by cash, check, credit cards, gift cards, or automatic debits
- issues receipts, refunds, credits, rain checks or change due to customers
- operates cash register by scanning price-coded items or entering PLU/UPC manually
- displays cost of customer purchase, tax, and rebates
- greets customers entering store and responds promptly to their needs
- maintains clean and orderly checkout areas
- issues coupons and rain checks
- assists customers as needed
- adheres to all front-end procedural guidelines
- supports and contributes to team goals
- reports and resolves problems efficiently
