Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency degree
- 1-2 years grocery retail experience preferred
- Ability to maintain highest level of customer service
- Capability to work in fast-paced retail environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to use MS Office and POS systems
- Flexibility to work varied schedules
- Basic knowledge of math, weights, and measures
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
- Must take initiative and adapt to changing situations
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency degree
- Preferred 1-2 years grocery retail experience in front end department
- Previous experience in natural foods industry is a plus
- Must maintain the highest level of customer service
- Ability to adapt to high volume retail environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with MS Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Experience with Point of Sale (POS) systems
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to contribute to team goals
- Flexibility to work varied hours and days
- Basic knowledge of math, weights, and measures
Job Duties
- Walks the store prior to each shift to ensure awareness of promotional and sale items
- Conducts produce walk and weekly testing
- Computes bill, itemized lists, and tickets showing amount due
- Receives payment by cash, check, credit cards, gift cards, or automatic debits
- Issues receipts, refunds, credits, rain checks or change due to customers
- Operates cash register by scanning items and entering relevant codes
- Greets customers and responds promptly to their needs
- Maintains clean and orderly checkout areas, ensuring no personal items are present
- Issues coupons and rain checks
- Performs other duties as assigned
