Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- 0 to 6 months experience in a retail environment required
- Ability to read and write
- Knowledge of basic arithmetic including fractions and decimals
- Ability to operate a cash register
- Ability to maintain proper cash security
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and staff
- Ability to maintain a clean and orderly work environment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- May require up to 6 months of customer service preferably in a retail environment
- 0 to 6 months experience in a retail environment required
- Requires the ability to read and write and knowledge of grammar and arithmetic including fractions and decimals
- May require the use of standard office medical equipment including typewriter personal computer data terminal online printer calculator telephone facsimile copier sterilizing equipment blood pressure cuff or tables
- Basic use of formulas charts tables drawings and knowledge of their application
Job Duties
- Operates cash register or equivalent receives payments of cash checks and charges from customers or employees for goods or services making change and issuing receipts or tickets to customers
- Ensures the accurate ring of proper PLU for sale items and or accurate barcode scans
- Maintains proper security of cash at all times
- Prepares as needed for service by wiping tables vacuuming the floors cleaning chairs and ensuring the acceptable appearance of the cafeteria
- Informs supervisor of items that need to be reordered
- Balances cash receipts and money drawer at the end of each shift
- Provides support to the cafeteria operations including setup maintaining supplies and products and assisting in cleanup and closedown
