Job Requirements

  • Ability to attend work on a regular, predictable basis as scheduled
  • Some customer service or office experience including cash handling and/or experience with Point of Sale systems
  • Ability to exercise independent judgement and initiative
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Successful completion of bilingual fluency assessment for bilingual pay eligibility

Job Qualifications

  • Some customer service or general office experience
  • Experience with cash handling and Point of Sale systems
  • Ability to multitask and handle varied customer needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Any combination of experience and training that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Bilingual abilities in Spanish, American Sign Language, or other community languages are a plus

Job Duties

  • Perform customer service functions for an assigned City department
  • Handle cash transactions and operate Point of Sale systems
  • Manage customer inquiries and provide accurate information
  • Assist in coordinating program schedules
  • Maintain professional and friendly interactions with patrons and coworkers
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, other City personnel, and the public
  • Exercise independent judgement and initiative in daily tasks
