Job Description

The Cashier/Attendant position is a key role within this convenience store, responsible for ensuring smooth day-to-day operations in the absence of store management. This position offers an hourly pay rate ranging from a minimum of $16.00 up to $18.00 depending on experience and skills. The role requires someone who is customer-service-oriented, reliable, and able to manage multiple duties with minimal supervision. Responsibilities include greeting customers warmly, suggesting products, accurately operating the cash register and other necessary equipment, pricing and stocking merchandise throughout various store locations, managing product storage and rotation to prevent spoilage or damage, and maintaining the store’s appearance both inside and out.

In addition, this role entails tasks such as maintaining general store cleanliness, including sweeping parking lots, picking up trash, cleaning restrooms, and ensuring stocked and fronted shelves. The Cashier/Attendant must also comply with security and safety policies and be accountable for all transaction shifts and daily cash management. Physical demands of the job require the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, as well as standing, walking, bending, and twisting for extended periods. This role necessitates strong organizational and communication skills, a solid work ethic, and flexibility to work varying shifts. The work environment is dynamic and fast-paced, suitable for individuals who thrive in retail settings and enjoy providing excellent customer service. Job Duties

  • Offer appropriate customer service
  • Greet all customers with a smile and hello
  • Suggest merchandise purchases to all customers
  • Learn and operate the cash register and additional required equipment with accuracy
  • Price, stock, and face merchandise including gondolas, shelving, counters, walk-in and upright coolers, and backroom storage areas
  • Manage product storage, maintenance, and rotation to avoid damage or spoilage
  • Maintain the store in accordance with maintenance policies and health department rules including cleaning restrooms, floors, and parking lots
  • Follow all security and safety policies and procedures
  • Account for all shift and daily transactions
  • Present a neat and clean appearance

  • Perform other duties assigned by the Store Manager or District Manager
