Job Requirements
- Ability to physically use a scanner to scan all merchandise
- ability to use Point of Sale keyboard and computer keyboard for transactions
- ability to see and read product labels
- ability to dispense product knowledge and communicate with customers
- manual dexterity
- ability to stand for extended periods
- ability to bend, climb, and twist routinely
- must be able to lift and move items up to 50 pounds
- availability to work 35-40 hours per week including Saturday or Sunday
- reliable attendance and punctuality
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- prior cashier or retail experience is beneficial
- strong customer service skills
- ability to communicate effectively with customers
- basic math skills for handling cash transactions
- familiarity with POS systems is an advantage
- ability to work flexible hours including weekends
Job Duties
- Operate cash register with accuracy and efficiency
- handle merchandise returns and exchanges quickly and efficiently
- ask each customer for their Ace Rewards card or explain the program and invite them to join
- count cash drawer to verify accuracy before shift and balance drawer at end of shift documenting checks, cash, and credit cards
- address customer complaints in a positive manner and involve store management when necessary
