Job Requirements
- must be able to stand for extended periods of time
- frequently required to stand, walk, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- must have visual and hearing acuity
- must have digital dexterity to operate point-of-sale system
- consistently perform repetitive tasks
- ability to use hands and fingers to ring and bag customer purchases, and reach, lift and carry 25 pounds on a regular basis
- ability to speak to, hear, and understand others via phone and in person in english
- must be available to work a flexible schedule including a variety of shifts, days, evenings, nights, and weekends including overtime, as needed
Job Qualifications
- work experience as a retail cashier or in a similar role in sales
- familiarity with electronic equipment, like cash register and POS
- good math skills
- strong communication and time management skills
- customer satisfaction-oriented
- attention to detail and accuracy in cash handling
- ability to work in fast-paced environment
- ability to handle stressful situations with professionalism
Job Duties
- process customer purchase transactions using point-of-sale systems
- scan goods and ensure pricing is accurate
- collect proper forms of payment and provide change accurately to maintain a balanced drawer
- issue receipts, refunds, change or tickets
- redeem stamps and coupons
- bag customer purchases
- cross-sell products and introduce new ones
- perform open and closing duties as needed
- resolve customer complaints, guide them and provide relevant information
- greet customers when entering or leaving the store
- maintain clean and tidy checkout areas
- assist with duties in other areas of the store when needed
- handle merchandise returns and exchanges
- perform all other duties as assigned
