Job Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment involving long intervals of standing crouching and reaching while moving product

Job Duties

  • Proper handling of all customer purchase transactions including cash checks credit and debit cards gift cards
  • Perform till countdowns as needed
  • Perform light cleaning duties as directed
  • Take and submit customer requests as needed
  • Answer department phone calls and take messages
  • Provide exceptional customer service
  • Greet every customer
  • Balance tills in the POS
  • Assist customers with their SCO interactions
  • Guide customers through the SCO interface
  • Demonstrate correct self checkout procedures to patrons
  • Check IDs for purchases of alcoholic items
  • Enter Not On File (NOF) items into the SCOs
  • Monitor SCO lane operation by observing lane and transaction awareness lights customers' body language and listening to voice prompts
  • Direct traffic through the SCO lanes
  • Invite customers to use SCO lanes to reduce queue build-ups
  • Train new department personnel
  • Observe customers to prevent shrinkage
  • Add money to SCOs when needed
  • Clear currency jams load receipt paper and restart SCO systems
  • Maintain regular predictable and punctual attendance for scheduled shifts
  • Light stocking of merchandise chips snacks and beverage cooler
  • Cleaning SCOs and front of store
  • Remove trash in front end and office
  • Answer phones and page the correct department
