Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Retail cashier or customer service experience preferred, especially in a grocery environment

Job Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent communication abilities that create a welcoming customer experience
  • Ability to quickly learn and retain information, including common PLU codes
  • Calm, objective approach to resolving issues and responding under pressure
  • Must be able to successfully complete a background check
  • Efficient work habits suited to a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Job Duties

  • Provide accurate and efficient checkout by entering correct SKU, quantity, and weight information into the POS system
  • Engage customers warmly and offer membership information during transactions
  • Ask customers to Round Up for the monthly sponsored non-profit, reflecting our core values
  • Follow all cash handling and check receiving procedures to maintain till accuracy
  • Uphold state regulations concerning the sale of alcoholic beverages
  • Support customers at self-checkout stations and assist with questions
  • Manage challenging customer situations with calmness and professionalism, involving leadership when needed
  • Help maintain a clean and orderly Front End, including the foyer, cart areas, eating spaces, and restrooms
  • Balance customer service with tasks such as stocking and light cleaning to keep the department running smoothly
