Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Six months of food and nutrition experience, preferably in hospital setting
  • Ability to read and write English
  • Ability to operate computerized cash register
  • Ability to handle cash securely
  • Ability to stand and walk for more than 4 hours daily
  • Capability to lift and move up to 30 pounds
  • Compliance with sanitation and safety procedures
  • Successful completion of customer service training

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Understanding of basic dietary principles preferred
  • Completion of customer service training modules required
  • Six months food and nutrition experience preferred, ideally in a hospital setting
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English
  • Outstanding interpersonal and customer relations skills
  • Ability to operate computerized cash register
  • Knowledge of cash management and customer service procedures
  • Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and supplies
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and solve problems independently

Job Duties

  • Operate computerized cash register and peripheral equipment to process food and beverage sales
  • Handle cash accurately and process charge transactions
  • Greet, acknowledge, and thank every customer providing excellent service
  • Count cash drawer and verify fund with supervisor at shift end
  • Maintain knowledge of cafeteria products, prices, and locations
  • Assist in setting up food service areas and maintaining condiment stations
  • Follow sanitation and personal hygiene guidelines and clean equipment according to standards
