Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of customer service training modules
  • At least six months of experience in food and nutrition, preferably in a healthcare environment
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, and understand English
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to operate cash registers and handle cash securely
  • Capacity to work independently with good problem-solving abilities
  • Physical ability to stand and walk for over 4 hours daily
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 30 pounds
  • Willingness to follow sanitation and safety protocols including using PPE

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Completion of Customer Service Training
  • Six months of Food and Nutrition experience, preferably in a hospital setting
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English
  • Outstanding interpersonal and customer relations skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and apply independent judgment
  • Knowledge of computerized cash register operation and cash management procedures
  • Familiarity with customer service standards and food service sanitation maintenance

Job Duties

  • Operate computerized cash register and peripheral equipment to process transactions
  • Handle cash accurately and make change following departmental cash handling procedures
  • Provide excellent customer service by acknowledging, greeting, and thanking every customer
  • Maintain cashier efficiency to serve a minimum of 2 customers per minute
  • Verify cash drawer and impress fund with supervisor
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of cafeteria products, prices, and locations
  • Assist in setup and maintenance of dining room and food service areas
  • Follow personal hygiene and sanitation protocols consistently
  • Clean and sanitize equipment and work area according to established procedures
  • Use and store cleaning agents safely
