Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • At least six months of experience in Food & Nutrition, preferably in a hospital environment
  • Successful completion of customer service training
  • Ability to read, write and understand English
  • Legible handwriting skills
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to operate computerized cash register and handle cash securely
  • Capability to stand and walk for more than 4 hours daily
  • Ability to lift and move food supplies up to 30 pounds
  • Compliance with sanitation and personal hygiene standards
  • Willingness to work within a hospital cafeteria setting
  • Ability to follow safety precautions when handling cleaning chemicals

Job Qualifications

  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • Understanding of basic dietary principles is preferred
  • Successful completion of all 10 modules of Customer Service Training required
  • Six months of Food & Nutrition experience, preferably within a hospital setting
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write and understand English
  • Legible handwriting
  • Outstanding interpersonal and customer relations skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and utilize independent judgment and problem solving
  • Ability to operate a computerized cash register
  • Knowledge of basic cash management procedures and customer service standards
  • Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and supplies

Job Duties

  • Operate computerized cash register with peripheral equipment to process sales transactions accurately
  • Handle cash, make change, process charge transactions, and maintain cash drawer security
  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting, acknowledging, and thanking every customer
  • Maintain knowledge of cafeteria products, prices, and answer routine customer queries
  • Assist in setting up food service areas, maintaining clean and stocked condiment stations, and emptying trash receptacles
  • Follow established sanitation and personal hygiene guidelines, including proper hand washing and cleaning protocols
  • Clean and sanitize equipment according to standard procedures
  • use and store cleaning agents properly
